Former Lagos State Governor Lateef Jakande dies at 91

A former governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande, has died.

The revered politician and former Lagos State umpire died at the age of 91.

Governor of Lagos State, Jide SanwoOlu, Thursday afternoon, confirmed the passing on to glory of the former political administrator and journalist, in his recent tweet, where he described the late leader as an outstanding politician.

With gratitude to God for a worthy life well spent in the service of Lagos State, Nigeria and humanity, I announce the death of a venerable statesman, outstanding politician, public administrator and the first Civilian Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande.
