Donald Trump launches new social app to resist ban

Former American president, Donald Trump, has launched a new social media platform, Truth Social.

The launch saw the upload of the new app on Apple’s App Store.

It was gathered that the app launch was intended to see the former president return to social media after he was banned from several platforms last year.

Some early users have, however, noted technical issues while trying to register on the app after receiving a message that reads: “Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our wait list.”

Ripples Nigeria, last year, had reported that Trump was banned from Twitter Inc, Facebook and Alphabet Inc’s YouTube following the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol by his supporters.

Some supporters of Donald Trump were filmed attacking the US Capitol after the former president allegedly posted messages inciting violence.
