BREAKING: Afrobeat music maestro, Orlando Julius, dies at 79

Afrobeat beat music maestro, Orlando Julius Aremu Olusanya Ekemode, is dead.

He died at the age of 79.

A statement from his wife, Latoya, confirmed the death of Orlando Julius to music personality Bimbo Esho.

Bimbo, in a condolence Facebook post, described the late Orlando as a gentleman and fine saxophonist.

Known professionally as Orlando Julius, the native of Ijebu Ijesha was a Nigerian saxophonist, singer, bandleader, and songwriter closely associated with afrobeat music.
